Classically untrained. Curious. Creative. Grateful.
A little about me.
I grew up in Turriff, Scotland, and at 19 competed — and flopped — on Channel 4's SAS: Who Dares Wins. At 20, I moved to New Zealand, eventually settling in the Bay of Islands with my partner, Josh, and our pets, Bella and Olly.
My working life has taken me from kitchens and tropical islands to banana farms, boat tours, bars, hostels and social housing.
Throughout it all — and with daily practice — I've filled stacks of books with drawings, essays, prototypes and questionable journal entries.
Art has always been there, squeezed around a full-time job. The bone curse is getting more powerful — and ultimately — my paintings are receipts for when I die.
That universal truth connects me to everyone who views my work. In a world of AI-generated art, I am a human who has made something.
And I, too, feel some kind of way about it.
